An Accordion Tune To Learn "BY EAR"
Lyrics:
|
Wish I was on - a mountain high,
Watching the eagle as she flies, Wish I could sit and dream awhile, And spend some time - in my homeland. So many places I can't recall, There's been so many - I've seen them all, But through the years, I've come to know, My heart belongs - in my homeland. I've seen the bright lights, the neon signs, Spent loving nights, sipping ruby red wine, Made a thousand friends along the way, But now I long to be - in my homeland. Three (of many) possibilities to end: Either Play first verse again. Or, if you have an "Irish" accordion, with rows separated by a semitone, play the three verses first on outside row, and then repeat first verse (or all three) on inside row. Or, if you have a triple-row (Corona-style) accordion, play the three verses first on the inside row (low), and then shift to a full tone higher on the outside row (high) and repeat first verse (or all three, if you prefer). |
Embedded youTube VIDEO
This is a fine tune and song beautifully performed by Isla Grant. I am surprised that it hasn't been covered on youTube by more performers. Thus I have included only five embedded videos, the first featuring Isla herself.
