And I love you, Af - ter all___ these years.
(Some performers repeat last line of chorus instrumentally)
Verse 2 - Can use the same tune as verse 1, though the phrase
"and I'm growing old" is played slightly differently by some groups.
Time from me passes on and I'm grow-ing old,
A lifetime nearly gone, I cannot unfold, Nights dark and cold.
But warm is your hand in mine, Feeble with ageless time,
The light of love still shines After all these years.
Accordion Notation - Simplified
Written (with apologies to Kennedy & Coleman) without use of "triplets".
However, if you have the "Foster & Allen" rhythm in your "head", you'll
probably play the (missing) "triplets", without even thinking about it.
You may wish to simplify it further by replacing the accidental "(i1/i4*) in
the chorus by either "5* or "6* (whichever sounds better to you). My
preference is to play the accidental properly as "i1 (if using inside row) or
as "i4* (if playing on the outside row).
